Between the Arc'teryx Cerium LT (now called the Arc'teryx Cerium Hoody) and the Outdoor Research Helium Down Hoodie, which one is best? Spoiler alert: It's the Outdoor Research. For definitely. Not that the Cerium is bad. I love that jacket. It's just that the Helium is more rad. And that's what I go over in this video through side by side comparisons and by sharing my totally subjective opinion :)
The Merrell Moab Speed 2 is the more sporty relative to the classic Merrell Moab hiking boot/shoe. It's kinda weird to say, but this shoe has a fashion-y look to it, and I think Merrell deserves credit for offering a shoe that appeals to younger folks, instead of the standard "hiking shoe" demographic. These specific shoes are the mid-height, Gore-Tex variants, which mean they have a boot like appearance and keep your feet dry for around two hours in normal wet conditions.
The Outdoor Research Helium Down Hoodie is ridiculously versatile. Most packable down puffer jackets are, but this one comes with some sweet extra features that make it a good choice. Aside from one nit picky thing that I wish were different, I can't find an issue with it. Have any ideas for a puffer coat I can review next? The Arc'teryx Beta and Patagonia Torrentshell 3L are basically the same. The Torrentshell has pit zips, and the Beta fits better, but which jacket should you buy? The Merrell Moab 3 is rad. But this version of it claims to be waterproof and it's not. It is water resistant, and still a good boot, but if you're looking for a truly waterproof hiking boot, this is not it. It's been four years since I got these Showers Pass rain pants, and they have exceeded my expectations. They are made of Artex 3 layer fabric, which is a Gore-Tex alternative. Showers Pass doesn't make these pants anymore, but they still make lots of rain gear with the Artex 3 layer fabric. These pants have been RAD to me, and I would recommend anybody check out Showers Pass :)
The Arc’teryx Beta is considered an “entry level” three layer rain jacket in the world of Arc’teryx. It is priced well above other entry level 3 layer jackets, and in most ways, feels nothing like an entry level anything. This, and the newest Beta jackets are made from Gore-Tex ePE, which is intended to be a less toxic fabric than the previous Gore-Tex. The previous stuff contained intentionally added PFAS Chemicals for some reason. 🤷🏼♂️
This Arc’teryx Delta Pullover Hoody is one purple hoody! It’s lightweight, warm and fits well. Arc’teryx uses ‘hollow-core fiber’ technology, which is a type of fancy fabric, and this is certainly a type of fancy hoody.

The full name of these shoes is 'Merrell Speed Solo Mid Waterproof Hiking Boot' But these don't act like boots at all. They're high top sneakers that can go on light hikes.
The Filson Sherpa Fleece is a nice, thick fleece jacket that failed on me after just four months of wearing it. I'm a Filson fan, so I really hope this experience isn't common, and doesn't continue. Aside from the left sleeve ripping out along the elbow patch, this is a great jacket.
