Arc’teryx vs. Patagonia - Which rain jacket to buy?

These are two of the top rain jackets and they're pretty much the same, but depending on who you ask, one of them is a lot better than the other. The Patagonia Torrentshell has pit zips, which is a nice feature that the Arc'teryx Beta doesn't have. And aside from price, that's the only thing that sets these jackets apart on paper. They really do have all the same features. Adjustable arm cuffs, adjustable waist cinches, adjustable hood. And while they have different fabrics, the Torrent

shell with H2 no, and the Beta with Gore-Tex EPe, they're both still three-layer membranes, and they both are high performance fabrics. I've had this Torrentshell for almost 2 years now, and I can say it is a very durable jacket. But there's something about the Beta, and it's the thing I say about Arc'teryx every single time. There is a premium fit and feel that is hard for me to describe and impossible to capture on paper or even in pictures. I'm not really sure. It's that this is like 5 or 10% better. And that's not to take anything away from the Patagonia. It's truly an excellent jacket and it overdelivers in every single category. The Arc'teryx is just a little bit better. So, it depends on who you ask. If you just want the best and you don't care what something costs, get the Arc'teryx. But if you're a value-minded individual or the idea of spending twice as much on something for five or 10% better performance is silly, then the Torrentshell is your answer. Anyway, if you like this video, check out my channel. And if you want to come along, subscribe. Either way, I'm stoked you're here. See you next time.

Dude, it is really wet.
