This is the hike-y version of the Keen Jasper. It's called the Jasper Zionic, which means it has a squishy EVA foam midsole and real grippy lugged outsole. I consider this a lightweight hiker. Think Merrell Moab Speed 2. Keen uses their own outsole material and it outperforms the Vibram stuff on the Moab Speed 2s. It just provides excellent grip. Out of the box comfort is stellar and so is the fit. It's got the classic extra toe room in the toe box that Keen offers, and the fit is true to size. It's summertime here, so I haven't even had to wear any tall socks. I've just worn it with my no-shows, which gives ample opportunity for blisters, and I've had zero yet. I've put about 150 miles on these so far, and they're holding up really well. I don't think they're going to make it to 1,000 miles. They just don't feel like that type of shoe, but I will make a video when they're all blown out, so be sure and subscribe for that. There's some design decisions around this shoe that I just really like. The whole tread is made out of these big and small ovals. And even on the top, there's more ovals. It has these really sweet scrunchy laces that stay put in here and don't come untied. Keen even includes a set of black laces if you want to switch up the vibe. Nice touch. This shoe's available in some fun colors and even this brushed suede finish, which turns out to be a dirt magnet, but I don't really mind because it reminds me of where I've been. Like this piece of grass was from my friend's house and um this was from a hike we did like a week ago and this piece of moss was from right over there. I'm really glad I tried the Jasper Zionic out. So far it's exceeding my expectations. The only negative thing I can say about them so far is the insoles they came with are terrible, but that's the case for pretty much every shoe. And Superfeet hike support insoles fix that problem. So no big deal. Honestly, I would buy this shoe again.
