Salomon X Ultra 04 GTX Mid Hiking Shoe - Short Reviews with Seth

Today, we're talking about the Salomon X Ultra 4 GTX Mid. This is a hiking boot shoe uh kind of something in the middle offered by Salomon. I've had them for nine weeks and worn them about 500 miles on all manner of surfaces everything from super muddy mud to hard dry concrete and just wanted to point out a couple of things. Number one they say they're waterproof because they got Gore-Tex all up in them. They ain't waterproof. Some light rain or enough of a puddle to go up over the top is sufficient to soak my socks. Seriously. The the sole excuse me has worn down like crazy in certain spots uh i think a little prematurely and now it doesn't even provide the grip that it used to. The support is also lacking, uh the original Ortholite Solomon insole was essentially flattened after about one week of use and I had to opt to put some $50 Super Feet insoles in there which are excellent. But the fact that I had to do that. So overall, I'd give this shoe like a one and a half out of five star rating so there's my opinion whatever that's worth. Thanks for watching.
