Don’t be fooled - Arc’teryx Kragg Shoe (slipper)

If you think the Arc'teryx Kragg shoe is going to be like a slipper you can take hiking, don't be fooled cause I was. But I'm actually not that mad that I bought it because it turns out it's a pretty good slipper, just not for hiking. It's funny because on their website they say things like "this is the comfortable before climb and after approach something shoe," but really what it's good for is wearing to the local grocery store or wearing around the house. The only thing I could think of comparing this thing to really is an actual slipper. As far as features go, it has the Vibram outsole and it has the sort of chunky tread, which is exactly what had me fooled. I look at this and I immediately think hiking or something adjacent. But if you look closely, it doesn't really have that much tread, so you slip pretty easily. And if you look even closer, you can see I've only worn it once or twice on actual dirt and they're pretty much brand new looking because I find myself wearing them around the house a lot more. It has about as many features as you would expect a slipper to have, which is about three. We've already talked about one, which is the Vibram outsole. And this little guy is meant to squish in so you can walk around with it as a super lazy slipper if you want. You can pull it on your foot like that. The third feature is pretty much the thickest insole known to man. It's kind of like a cutout of a memory foam mattress that you get to walk on, complete with a micro suede top liner and a fancy logo. I haven't even tried going on a hike in this yet because it just feels like I don't get hardly any support, but it does offer boatloads of comfort, as you might expect. The color of these shoes is called Nightscape, in case you wanted to know. And one of the cool things is Cotopaxi apparently makes the same color in this pair of teal pants that I have. And it matches perfectly, which makes me feel like a character from Star Trek. As far as sizing, I'm usually a 13, so I got these in size 13. Whenever I'm going down hills, or more accurately, down carpeted stairs inside of my house, my little ring toe bumps the ends just barely, which seems to add up for Arc'teryx shoe sizing in general. Maybe go a half size up. So, if you're looking for a hiking shoe that's easy to take on and off, I just don't think this is going to fit the bill. But if you know someone who wants a pair of luxury slippers and is outdoorsy, this might make a really good gift, even if it's for yourself. I make videos like this pretty frequently. So, if you like this video or you're into this kind of thing, check out my channel. And if you want to come along, subscribe. But either way, I'm stoked you're here and I'll see you next time :)
