this jacket ruined my wardrobe - arc’teryx cerium review

(Please note the below text is a transcript of the video)

This jacket ruined my wardrobe, but probably not in the way you think. When it's chilly out, I grab my rain jacket or this. And that's mostly a good thing. But there's something about the Arc'teryx Cerium LT I just don't like. I'm going to talk about the good first, but it's worth it to stick around for the part I don't like. This jacket is an extra large. I'm 6'2 and 190 lb, and it fits me liiiiike a glove. I do like my stuff to fit a little looser. And because it's a packable jacket, it fits perfectly underneath my Patagonia Torrentshell, which is a size large. It's got the adjustable hood, which keeps things together whenever it's really windy. Waist cinchies down on the bottom, which is nice. Keeps my belly warm. It's got wind and water resistant fabric on the outer layer, which just comes in clutch. I mean, why doesn't every jacket have that? I owned this jacket for a year before I realized it had this clever little bag that it's actually meant to pack down in. Before that, I was just packing it down into its own hood, which actually worked pretty well. This is a down jacket everywhere except for here and this little arm cuffy spot right here, which is prone to getting wet, whether you're wearing it completely out and about or even if it's safe underneath a rain jacket. They put a different fill material that's more resilient to water cuz the down feathers or whatever if they get all soaked through totally lose their insulative properties. This keeps your wrist a little bit warmer. Nice touch. All right, now to talk some [ __ ] I said mostly good earlier because I can't really find anything about this jacket that I don't like. In fact, that's why it ruined my wardrobe. I used to wear all sorts of different things when I went outside and now if it's cold I just wear this. So if you're looking to get something from Arc'teryx at all or this just know it may end up being all you wear. But that's just it to get this jacket from Arc'teryx will set you back $400. And that would be okay if basically every other outdoor brand didn't basically have the same jacket for basically half as much money. The Arc'teryx Cerium just isn't very good value. And I know I'm wearing one, but this was a gift. So, unless you have money to burn or unless you're looking to get an awesome gift for someone, then buy just about anything else and I'm sure it's going to get the job done just fine and you'll save lots of money. If you're looking for the very best packable down jacket that you can get, though, I think this is the one. I like going outside, but I really like sharing it with others. If you liked this review, be sure and leave a comment so I know to make more. If you like going outside, too, go on over to my channel, check it out, and if you want to come along, subscribe.
