These ain’t your dad’s MOAB’s - Merrell Moab Speed 2 Mid Gore-Tex

If you're tired of looking like your dad every time you put on a pair of hiking shoes, Merrell has an option. It's called the Moab Speed 2. This specific version is the Speed 2 Mid Gore-Tex, which means it's kind of bootlike and has Gore-Tex fabric, which is good for keeping you dry for about 2 to 3 hours in normal wet conditions. It has a different design on the Vibram outsole than the standard Moab, which offers a lot more grip at a cost of durability, but I'll take the trade because the standard Moab, I think, lacks in the grip department. One of the cool details on this shoe is the tongue fabric. It has this elevated mesh that's really cool to look at and even kind of fun to touch. Just to make sure everyone knows that you bought a Merrell shoe, they were kind enough to put their name in huge letters on the sides of both shoes. The Speed 2 also comes with a terrible insole from the factory, which is actually common in the world of shoe manufacturers, I guess, but it's not that big of a deal because SuperFeet makes a rad hiking insole, and I just use that. I'm definitely not the most fashionable person that I know, but the Moab Speed 2 has a much more sporty look than the standard Moab. And if you ask me, maybe they're even a little bit more fashionable. Just like the standard Moab, it's available in lots of different colors and available pretty much anywhere. Although it comes at a slight premium for price, but you do get what you pay for. I've worn this pair for the last 75 miles, and I really like them. The whole idea of fashionable outdoor gear is kind of novel, so props to Merrell for being ahead of the curve. If you like this video, check out my channel. And if you want to come along, subscribe. But either way, I'm stoked you're here. And I'll see you next time.
