Testing the waterproofness of my new Merrells
(Please note the below text is a transcript of the video)
Today I got a pair of Merrell's I've wanted for a long time. I'm going to find out one thing. Are they actually waterproof like they say? It's rainy season which means I need to focus on keeping my socks dry whenever I take the dog out. I'm going to do a couple of super simple tests just to verify out of the box that Merrell is not lying. I hope you're not, you.. First up is the creek test where I'm going to stand in this creek for a little while and see how long it takes for my feet to get wet.

We've got up to actually about 5 minutes of my feet just sort of standing in this creek. I'm all the way dry. I'm kind of shocked. The next step is the old hose test. So, let's go back home.

You know, it's funny how many shoes claim to be waterproof and can't even support that right out of the box. Which is why I'm really happy that my socks are still dry after the simple test we did today. Obviously, give it more time and these shoes are going to have plenty of opportunity to fail as you put more wear and tear on them and miles. Waterproofing doesn't last forever. But at least out of the box, Merrell's claim can be supported, which makes me happy. Anyway, if you like this video, check out my channel. And if you want to come along, subscribe.
