After 4 great years - Showers pass rain pants
This is what you can expect after 4 years with a pair of Showers Pass rain pants. It's rare for a pair of anything to last me 4 years, but these have been the only rain pants I needed. And until this spring, they didn't even wet through. Showers Pass uses a proprietary fabric called Artex, which is pretty obviously a Gore-tex alternative. These pants came with the Artex 3 layer membrane, which is the premium one. They were a gift during the COVID times, and as a result, my size wasn't available. So, the next best thing was a women's extra large, which turned out to be a really good thing. Back then, I mountain biked a lot and even commuted to work on an e-bike. And the extra space afforded with the women's trim helped me a lot to move around inside the pants. It has an elastic fit and even some cool little zip off bottoms so you can rock some weird looking long rain shorts if you desire. As far as packability, I don't think they're designed to pack into a pocket or anything like that, but they're not too fussy and you can roll them up in a pretty tight roll and not have any issues. There's even a little zipper on the bottom of the pant, so you can put it on over a pair of boots. Nice touch. I've only ever had to re-apply DWR three different times on these pants, and they've kept me dry and warm and windproof through it all. It's really impressive the way that these pants held up, the abuse that they've taken and how they look so far. Even though Showers Pass doesn't make this exact pant anymore, they still make rain pants and they're still with the Artex three layer membrane fabric. I didn't intend for this video to be an advertisement for Showers Pass, but I genuinely don't have anything bad to say about these pants. So, I guess good job Showers Pass. :) If you like this sort of thing, check out my channel. And if you want to come along, subscribe. But either way, I'm stoked you're here and I'll see you next time.
