dakine slayer mountain bike knee pad - short reviews with seth
(Please note the below text is a transcript of the video)
Today, we're gonna talk about the Dakine Slayer mountain bike knee pad. So this is a entry level at all points price wise uh mountain biking knee pad and full disclosure, the only one I've ever owned, so take that with a grain of salt. But I wanted to quickly talk about my experience with them. They are a little tight uh initially but ended up stretching out and fit my legs pretty well. I'd say I have average sized legs they breathe quite well uh there's a bunch of mesh in the back here the padding in the front is kind of like a soft almost like like a dense foam and I've had a couple of pretty big spills. One where I landed with almost all my weight on my left knee while I was wearing these and it absorbed the impact super well. I think I would have been in a lot more pain without them. As far as long climbs, there can be a little bit of tightness behind the knee how do I do that, the knee joint kind of in there you know a little bit of tightness obviously. Any layer you put on whenever you're mountain biking is just going to make you sweat more but they don't stink too bad because they have that Polygiene treatment, so over time you know you machine wash them [Music] once a month or so and it keeps the stank away. They have this rubberized coating on the top of the elastic band that grabs onto your thigh and helps it from slipping down. In fact it does an excellent job once they're on my legs they don't move so I'd say for the price compared to you know spending 150 bucks on some big fancies if you can get these for whatever I got them for I think 60 bucks then it's a win overall. I would rate them with my with my limited experience of any other knee pad like a four out of five
Yeah I think that's all I have to say. Thanks for watching.
